Business Development Manager, Education – North America

Location: USA (East Coast/Central)

The Role 

Reporting directly into the VP of Higher Education Growth and Partnerships, the Business Development Manager, Higher Education, US actively generates new sales leads and wins new business.  With a targeted focus on selling Togetherall into the Higher Education market primarily across the East Coast of the US, the role includes generating leads, managing a healthy opportunity pipeline, and converting sales – both on a direct basis and through strategic channel partnerships in your specified territory. 

Togetherall operates a matrix style management structure working within cross functional teams. 

This role is a fully remote role based in the Eastern or Central time zone of the United States. 

Key Responsibilities 

Generate leads and win new business. This includes; 

  • Developing excellent knowledge of the digital health space and the complexities of mental health services as it relates to higher education  

  • Building and driving a robust pipeline from opportunity identification to deal closure of new higher education business 

  • Establishing and maintaining strong commercial relationships with strategic channel partners, individual institutions and systems of higher education 

  • Utilizing a strategic approach to understand market dynamics, industry trends, and competitor landscape to position Togetherall effectively 

  • Engaging internal Togetherall marketing, clinical & technical specialists to support the consultation and sales process 

  • Providing regular updates and actionable insights to sales and marketing teams 

  • Working collaboratively with the account management team to effectively transition a new contract to implementation and onboarding 

  • Traveling to and participating in regional and national conferences across the United States and on-campus meetings as needed 

Pipeline management 

  • Track progress, manage follow-up tasks and meetings and ensure timely advancement through the sales funnel while maintaining a balanced pipeline. 

Achieve and over-achieve on personal KPIs and sales targets 

  • Ensure personal KPIs and targets are achieved for new business wins 

  • Perform against defined personal sales targets 

Territory management and planning  

  • Through a variety of account-based marketing strategies, build and execute on a territory plan 

  • Produce and ensure that pipeline forecasting reflects the objectives of the business 

  • Exercise commercial awareness and deliver against the sales and marketing strategy  

About You 

  • Proven success in consultative higher education sales, navigating complex decision-making processes with a multitude of influencers and decision makers and arduous contract review processes 

  • Adept at relationship building and the ability to network within the specified client base
  • Process-oriented, organized, and expertise in managing the full sales cycle and using CRM tools effectively 
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels 
  • Entreprenurial mindset with a sense of ownership, a willingness to “roll up your sleeves,” adaptability, and a desire to work in a social impact business 
  • Goal oriented with a proven track record of reaching and exceeding sales quota 

General Experience 

  • 3-5 years of experience in mental health and/or higher education software solutions and services  

  • Formal sales training 

  • Bachelor’s degree
